Hoda Kotb Hilariously Responds to Fans wanting Her to date Kevin Costner
Hoda Kotb recently gave a comical response to fans dreaming about her dating actor Kevin Costner. Appearing on Tuesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Kotb addressed a viewer question about a potential romantic connection between her and the Oscar-winning actor.
The fan, who appeared virtually, asked, “How do you feel about viewers ’shipping you and Kevin Costner after he appeared on ‘Today’ last month, and have the two of you connected since?”
Clearly caught off guard, Kotb chuckled and admitted she had no idea people were thinking about her and Costner as a potential couple. However, she didn’t completely dismiss the idea either.
“Well, if the viewers want it,” she laughed.
Host Andy Cohen then probed if Kotb would consider using a dating app to meet someone, but the “Today” co-anchor wasn’t too keen on the idea of swiping left or right.
“I think I’d like for someone to say, ‘I know this person,’” she said, preferring the old-fashioned matchmaking method. “That would make me feel better.”
In June, Costner denied rumors that he was dating singer Jewel after they were first romantically linked in December, clarifying on “The Howard Stern Show” that they had “never gone out, ever.”
On Wednesday’s broadcast of “Today,” Jenna Bush Hager teased Kotb about her “WWHL” appearance, noting that she had been approached by strangers hoping for a Kotb-Costner romance after his guest spot on the show.
“I was like, ‘Wow, I didn’t realize they were flirting behind my back,’” Bush Hager joked before introducing a video montage of Kotb and Costner’s interactions from the June interview.
While Kotb didn’t reveal much about her interest in dating Costner, she did share an amusing tidbit she learned about him: the actor eats “baked beans out of the can.”
“I liked that he wasn’t fancy,” she said. “I thought that was really cool.”
