When in Rome... Build a Giant Statue of Your Wife? Mark Zuckerberg Channels His Inner Caesar

Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg caused quite the stir on Wednesday when he unveiled his latest venture: a 7-foot silver and blue statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan. Apparently, the man who brought you Facebook now fancies himself as Rome’s greatest sculptor—or at least, the one in his backyard.

In an Instagram post, Zuck proudly displayed the towering statue, declaring it an homage to "the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife." Because nothing says "I love you" like a colossal, metallic version of your spouse watching over your garden. Somewhere, Michelangelo is either rolling in his grave or furiously taking notes.

Crafted by New York-based artist Daniel Arsham, this teal titan now stands guard under a tree in what seems to be the Zuckerbergs' residential garden. The internet, as expected, had a field day, quickly likening the statue to an Avatar character. Naturally, the Twitterverse also revived the age-old debate: is Zuckerberg secretly an alien, or is he just really committed to the "wife guy" persona?

In the grand reveal, Priscilla Chan can be seen sipping from a mug that perfectly matches the statue’s light blue hue. She playfully commented on the Instagram post, asking, "The more of me the better?" and added a heart emoji, presumably to remind Mark that she’s still the real MVP—both in flesh and chrome.

The statue, adorned with what appears to be a dramatically flowing silver garment, might be Zuckerberg’s boldest statement yet. According to the National Museums Liverpool, Roman statues were often used to honor deceased loved ones or connect with important ancestors. In this case, it’s clear: Mark just really wants to make sure Priscilla knows she’s irreplaceable—literally.

The couple, who have been married since 2012 and share three daughters, now have an extra family member. Though this one might be a bit more high-maintenance when it comes to rust prevention.
