Purr-fectly Nostalgic: Halle Berry Celebrates 'Catwoman' Anniversary in Topless Tribute
Halle Berry Bares All with Feline Friends to Celebrate 'Catwoman' Anniversary
Halle Berry knows how to make an anniversary unforgettable! To mark 20 years since she donned the catsuit in the 2004 film "Catwoman," the actress took to Instagram with a bold celebration. Berry posed topless, strategically holding her two cats to cover her chest, and added a black mask for that extra touch of nostalgia.
"Still purring after 20 years! Meow! It’s been two decades since I had the honor of bringing this iconic character to life," Berry captioned the cheeky post. "She will always be close to my heart and I will forever be Patience Phillips aka CATWOMAN!"
Fans and celeb pals couldn't resist showering Berry with love. Julianne Moore dropped a "Hello Kitty" in the comments, complete with a red heart, while one fan exclaimed, "20 years where, Ms. Berry!? You look phenomenal!" Another demanded, "We need a sequel tbh."
Berry also took a moment to thank a friend for aiding in the rescue of her kittens, whom she calls her "black beauties." These two feline co-stars, Boots and Coco, showed up in Berry's yard searching for their mother, and now they’re part of her family. She found new homes for their two siblings and spayed the mother cat, who now roams Berry's yard.
Back in 2004, Berry starred as Catwoman in a film that was, shall we say, less than purr-fect in the eyes of critics. Despite an all-star cast, the movie tanked, earning a meager 8% on Rotten Tomatoes and snagging the Razzie Award for worst picture. Berry herself won worst actress at the Razzies, and in a classy move, she showed up to accept the award in person, Oscar in hand.
"I put a lot of thought into that speech," Berry told Entertainment Weekly. "You can never take away my Oscar, no matter how bad you bash me! If you say I earned this Razzie, I'll take it, too."
During her acceptance speech, Berry didn't hold back, humorously thanking Warner Brothers for casting her in what she called a "piece of s---, God-awful movie." She joked that "Catwoman" took her from the top to rock bottom, adding, "Love it!"
However, Berry later clarified that she doesn’t actually think "Catwoman" is a terrible film. "I s--- on it because they s--- on it! I tried to be one of them," she explained. Despite the criticism, she appreciated the hard work of everyone involved and loved bringing her version of Catwoman to life.
So, whether you’re a fan of Berry's bold photoshoot or just here for the feline fun, one thing's for sure: Halle Berry is still the cat's meow.
