Fans Excited As Jenna Bush Hager Makes Career Announcement
Jenna Bush Hager has her fans buzzing with excitement after revealing her latest career move: starring in the upcoming Hallmark holiday movie, "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story".
The "Today" show star made the announcement on Thursday, July 11, entering the studio in a Santa hat and Kansas City Chiefs jersey sporting Travis Kelce's number. Though the movie isn't directly based on Kelce's highly publicized romance with Taylor Swift, it's easy to speculate that their love story might have influenced the film's plot.
"I thought it was about Taylor and Travis, and I thought I got the Taylor role," Bush Hager joked while clutching the "top secret" script. "But I didn't—shocker."
Instead, the "Love Comes First" author revealed that the movie centers on a "super fan [of the Kansas City Chiefs] who falls in love with a man who works for the team."
While "Today" show colleagues Hoda Kotb,
Sheinelle Jones, Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, and Al Roker pressed for more details, Bush Hager remained tight-lipped about her role in the film, sworn to secrecy by Hallmark.
Fans, however, couldn't contain their excitement. "OMGoodness...I love Jenna! How fun & can't wait to see this movie!" one fan gushed on Instagram. Another chimed in, "This is so exciting!"
Some fans welcomed Bush Hager to the Chiefs fandom with open arms. "Welcome to the red kingdom," wrote one Instagram user. "So excited you are joining us in some Christmas magic!" added another Chiefs fan.
During the broadcast, Roker, 69, asked if Kelce, 34, would make a cameo in the film. Bush Hager stayed mum on the details, leaving everyone guessing.
We do know that "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" will be filmed in Kansas City, Mo., including scenes at the Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium. Production is set to begin this month, though a release date hasn't been announced yet.
